Technology Loans (Laptops & Wifi)

Effective Fall 2023, the SJCC Library has suspended loans of laptops and Wifi hotspots, formerly known as the laptop loaner program. Students needing to borrow laptops and/or Wifi hotspots are being referred to the following:

  • Some devices including laptops and wifi hotspots are available through the SJPL Digital Inclusion program (Information provided by City of San Jose) 
    • Follow links on the page for specific instructions and for participating branches/locations 
  • Currently, the County of Santa Clara has laptops available for in-library use only. See ther system's Laptop Lending Program page. 

 

 

Free Internet Hotspots

Xfinity WiFi hotspots located in businesses and outdoor locations across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free – including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers. Follow this link to view a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots. Once at a hotspot, you should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser.

California Community Colleges students are eligible for this eligible for this mobile hotspot servicepowered by Sprint, which offers nationwide 4G LTE connectivity and allows users to connect up to 10 WiFi enabled devices for up to 10 hours on a single charge for only $19.99 a month.
